About the Royal Commission on Antisemitism and Social Cohesion
The Royal Commission on Antisemitism and Social Cohesion was established by the Australian Government following the antisemitic terrorist attack at Bondi Beach on 14 December 2025.
The Royal Commission is examining the nature, causes and impacts of antisemitism and failures in social cohesion in Australia, as well as the effectiveness of government, law enforcement, and security responses. It is also investigating the circumstances leading up to the Bondi attack, including security arrangements and information‑sharing between agencies.

How to access help
Submissions to the Royal Commission on Antisemitism and Social Cohesion (Royal Commission) closed on 14 June 2026. However, the work of the Royal Commission continues.
The Royal Commission is conducting public hearings to collect evidence for its inquiry. It is anticipated that hearings will continue until the end of August 2026.
The Royal Commission Legal Assistance Service (RCLAS) also continues to help people understand and engage with the Royal Commission processes. We can provide free legal advice and assistance to people who:
- have received a notice to produce or other formal communication from the Royal Commission
- have been requested or required to appear as a witness before the Royal Commission
- have confidential or sensitive information to provide to the Royal Commission
- have questions or concerns about Royal Commission processes, including questions about hearings
- require legal advice about matters being examined by the Royal Commission
Our service can help people to understand their rights and obligations, prepare for participation in hearings, assist people to engage and navigate Royal Commission processes.
